stops being obvious.
A WAY OF LOOKING
Physics begins with matter in motion. Philosophy asks what it means to notice that motion at all. Somewhere between them, I keep finding questions that refuse to stay in their own department.
This is where I put a few of them.
I / PHYSICS & PERSPECTIVE
A cloud looks continuous until its grains come into view. Coarse-graining makes a pattern legible by letting detail go. That is useful. It is also a choice.
I keep wondering how much of what feels obvious comes from the scale at which I am looking. A useful picture still leaves something out.

The observer belongs inside the question. Words like “mind” and “consciousness” can make an unfinished explanation sound like something we have already found.
Could the sense of self be a way a living system distinguishes itself from its surroundings? Emergence is an intuition worth pursuing. Naming it does not settle it.
Look closely enough and
the question changes.
III / MAKING & ORGANISING
A circuit is a useful antidote to a convincing explanation. Did the mechanism move, or did the screen merely say it had? Make a small change. Watch what actually happens.
The same test belongs in business. A plan connects people, time, equipment and decisions. Who can act? What is available? What remains unknown? An arrangement has to be possible before it can be impressive.
